Drawings with coal … naked.

Since I started to love going back to coal, I continued using it for a few more weeks. Getting into the movements of the hand and pen, and getting to know the technics behind this strange material which is coal.

I also appreciate the nuances and shadow effect one can make with coal, which is not possible with ink & pen.

Naked bodies are completely different when drawn with coal. They seem to have more depth and more intensity. More expression and more emotions. they seem to be more alive than with ink & pen.

The pen made portrait is a portrait made of me by a fellow student in the drawing class.
