We should always speak of Sign Languages in plural because as you might know or not, there exist many different sign languages in the world. So many that some might even differ from one another depending on if used or originating from two different regions of the same country. We decided to engage in the challenging journey of learning French Sign Language with my son in June 2019. And to my greatest surprise, I discovered that there were many sign languages which were originating from French Sign Language. A reality that comforted me: it means that we can practice French Sign Language worldwide, many of them are originating from it.
